Dr. Steven Vela grew up in Laredo, Texas and received his undergraduate degree from Trinity University in San Antonio. After attending medical school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Vela is board certified with the American College of Surgeons.
